addressed members of both Houses of Parliament at a briefing meeting held at
the House of Commons, and in the presence of Stephen Byers, Secretary of State

E-business in the UK steel

In a project financed by the DTI and managed by UK Steel,
Hatch Beddows has produced a study into the existing use of e-business along
two steel supply chains in the UK, and the opportunities for the future. Press

The Budget announced by the Chancellor on 21st March 2000
was a missed opportunity. It was a disappointment for the UK steel industry,
and for UK manufacturing in general. The Chancellor failed to show any
recognition of the vital role that manufacturing still has in the UK economy.
